College Bound? Follow these tips
-
Stay Organized! Pay attention to Deadlines!
-
Ensure you have the credits/demonstrations necessary for high school graduation.
-
Check academic units for college admissions.
-
Note that some colleges may require your mid-year grades, and all of them will require a final transcript that includes all your high school work.
-
Remember that rigorous courses and a stable or upward trend of grades are most desirable.
-
Know the specific admission requirements for the school you are applying to (specific courses, SAT, ACT, or test optional, etc.)
-
Chart for GPA and Test Score Ranges of Admitted Freshman (This chart provides the average GPA and ACT/SAT ranges for students Colorado colleges and universities have admitted. For example, “50 percent of admitted students had between a 3.0 -3.5 GPA and 1040 – 1300 SAT.” These ranges are NOT admission requirements but a guide to the admission standards at each institution. Students who have below the listed 50 percent ranges can still be competitive for admission if they are strong in other areas of their academic profile.)
-
Keep your eye out for college free application days, where you can apply to many Colorado colleges and universities for free. These normally take place in October.
